Ministry of Higher Education of Malaysia will be organising the Prime Minister’s Cup International Malay Language Oratory Competition for 2021, this November.
An annual event, the competition was postponed last year following the global outbreak of Covid-19. Nevertheless, the event, now in its 14th year, will resume and take place in 2021 with a new hybrid concept, by which the screening sessions, preliminary heats and the quarterfinals (for the International and Malay World (Brunei, Indonesia, Singapore and Thailand) categories) will be held online, while the semi-finals, culminating in the finals at the Showdown Night, will be held in person at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), Skudai, Johor.
In this regard, the event secretariat seeks your cooperation to share and spread the information pertaining to this event, to encourage nominations and applications from students (non-Malaysians) from all over the world who have the ability to deliver a speech in Malay to participate in the event in the categories of International.
For your information, the online screening and pre-competition sessions (preliminary and quarter-final rounds) will be held soon, the details of which will be announced accordingly. Participants who qualify to the semi-finals will be provided with flight tickets to Malaysia and accommodation during their stay.
